Is it possible to operate two monitors via daisy chain and DP 1.2 settings (see Dell manual https://tinyurl.com/lk7j7d8) on a MacBook Air model 2012 without an adapter?

I have set it up this way, BUT with a Windows PC. It runs without problems there, previously without success on one without DP 1.2.
