Question about Dell D6000

Is it possible to create a switch between the Dell D6000 and the laptop so that I can also use the connected peripherals (2x 4K monitors, keyboard & mouse) with a desktop PC? The end result would be the same situation as with a classic KVM switch but with the advantage of the Dell D6000 where I only have to plug in a single USB-C cable on the laptop. With a classic KVM switch, I would have to plug in 4 cables each in my constellation (2 HDMI or DP for the 2 monitors plus 1 USB for the keyboard/mouse and power cable for power). Or am I looking at it the wrong way? 1000 thanks for your help!!!!

Hello,
Sorry for the delay. No, a switch like with a KVM is simply not possible. As written in the other answer, data exchange and charging take place via the USB-C cable. This means that you either connect your desktop to the laptop or to the desktop. But both are not possible. Unfortunately, I can't answer whether it works according to your idea using a switch/hub, because I only use the D6000 with the laptop. But if you have already tested it, please let me know. It would certainly be interesting to know if it works.

Greetings

On the Dell 600 I have two Displayport to HDMI on two monitors, network and a USB 3.0 switch for various devices.Only the USB C goes into the laptop. The whole Kominikation, network, image and supply goes over only this C connection and goes flawlessly, quickly and no more cable clutter.Only a mini mouse dongel from Logitec is still on the laptop for work on the road.MfG MW
