Is it possible for the docking station to switch on the laptop or mac without opening the laptop or mac and thus work directly on the monitor? It works easily with my HP docking station, but this dock does not have a power button.

I never used my system with a closed laptop so do not have personal experience with your problem. My understanding is that the Mac should turn on if external power is supplied and external keyboard activated. The power is always on with the docking station so it should work. The OWC unit is not very reliable - I’m on my second replacement and my USB 3 sockets have already failed. Good luck

I have a 3-way Logi keyboard and mouse on my iMac, MBPro (with OWC dock) and Win computer. Everything starts as expected on "Tap" or "Click" or "Mousemove". No opening or other incantations. OK, I have to tell the 2nd monitor (MBPro, Win) via the monitor-internal menu where to switch to if it was already active for one/the (other) PC before.
