Is it also possible to control the bulb with an already installed dimmer switch? Or is that only possible via the HUE system? I would like to have both.

The dimming function of the lamp can only be addressed via the HUE control. However, there is also a dimmer switch from HUE. With a conventional dimmer, the voltage is turned down, but I'm not sure if the HUE lamp can handle this, as it already has a dimmer in its electronics. In any case, Philips HUE support advises against using a conventional dimmer on a HUE lamp, as the electronics can be damaged.
