Is a usb c cable between MacBook and monitor sufficient to output the image and use the hub on the monitor?

Yes, I use the monitor in exactly the same way with a USB C cable, which includes the monitor signal and network and also charges the MacBook at the same time (I use it with a MacBook Air). Besides the picture quality, that's why I'm very enthusiastic about this monitor.
