If you leave out the cross-bracing, the table is completely unstable and the function of the motor is no longer guaranteed.
The table is not made of wood.

Answer

The cross-bracing is directly under the tabletop, so there is enough space to stretch out the legs.

And the tabletop itself is very much made of wood - I screwed a cable tray under the table at the back to store cables and power supplies.

I'm very happy with the purchase so far (a week ago).
