I'm wondering whether I've got a piece of junk with a lousy camera in my Nokia 8. I would therefore like to know whether the camera is generally so bad or whether my Nokia has a "defect". When I take a picture of a moving object (dog/cat/toddler) in everyday life in medium light conditions in standard mode without HDR, the object is usually (80%) out of focus. The fact that the camera, or rather the camera software, is not the best can be read about in countless forums. But the camera on my Nokia feels useless for subjects that are in motion. Google Pixel APK or Open Camera make no difference. Do you also have this problem, or is it very pronounced on my Nokia 8?
Have you updated to Android 9 yet? I have the feeling that the camera quality has improved since the update. In general, however, I find the camera to be good and I don't have the problems you describe to an extent that is unusual for a smartphone camera.
