I thought so too, but asus says it is enough to have 2 pcies in psu.

1. Put one dedicated 6 + 2 cable from psu to gpu

2. Put one dedicated 6 + 2 cable from psu to gpu

3.Put one daisy chained connector from any of above cable to the gpu
