If I have the cam connected in the car and it always runs when the engine is on, the battery is empty after 1-2 days. I.e. it takes some energy from the battery during the recording time until it is empty (instead of the battery being charged). Consequence: when the battery is empty, the device switches off directly (crashes) and creates an unreadable file until the card is full of unreadable files and no more data can be saved. Has anyone had similar experiences? I am curious about your experiences. Peter Saxer
Hello. How many months or years have you had the device? The small 3.5 V batteries only last a limited time. Then the storage capacity drops. The battery only charges up to 20 %. But the device needs a lot of power and sucks the battery dry. I always commute between Asia and Zurich, buy quality bat in China and then install them myself. I have 4 cams and after a while they all have to be replaced. The original bats are not first quality. The device lasts for years but the bat doesn't. It doesn't make sense to replace them in Switzerland because of the labour costs, if anyone does it at all and wants to. Decadent throwaway society. Selling is easier. The industry doesn't care about the environment as long as the turnover is right.
Hello Peter Saxer
I have only had the camera since October 2022 and have not had this problem yet.
Is it possible that you are using a car adapter for several devices, so that the camera does not get enough power to charge.
It happened with my first car adapter with the USB socket for the mobile phone, which burnt out, I had to buy a new car adapter with more power.
Since then I can charge everything together camera, navi + mobile phone without problems.
Greetings Mike
hello peter
I have not noticed this behaviour from the camera. Could it be that your charging cable is defective?
If you are in the Volketswil area, you could try my cam.
Many greetings Pierre
