Question about Benro Gd3wh
I would only use the GD3WH with the long tele and wonder if it would be possible to fix the GD3WH to an Arca-Swiss plate and then mount it on a ball head (also with Arca-Swiss mount) if needed? That would save dismantling the ball head and thus speed up the conversion from ball head to gear head and vice versa. Or does that make it too wobbly? Or does it stick to the Arca-Swiss plate when rotating ?

The standard thread on an Arca-Swiss plate is smaller than that of most tripod heads. You may be able to find an adapter. The GD3WH is very stable, but when mounted on a ball head, this is lost due to the much greater lever length between the ball and the camera, i.e. very unwieldy. I would mount the ball head on the GD3WH. You will probably get the best results with two tripods, if you have to change them at all.
