I would like to use the Ipad on the road from time to time but I don't necessarily want to buy a SIM version, can I use it via the hotspot of the Iphone if I need to?

Of course you can use the hotspot of your iPhone. However, you must bear in mind that during use your iPhone has a greatly increased battery consumption and the internet is deducted from your mobile phone subscription.

I thought so, but this is only needed if there is no WLAN in the area. Swisscom still uses the Multi Device, isn't that like a hotspot? How is the speed in comparison?
