I would like to change the internal hard drive of my 2013 macbookpro retina 15" to a 500gb ssd. will this work with the mac and what is the difference with the samsung 960 EVO ssd. thank you for your reply
With an adapter from sintech.cn there are people who have succeeded and apparently it works (much faster than the OWC) but you have to be careful to upgrade to High Sierra with the original macbook drive to update the efi memory. With a 2013 mbp there can be problems (this was the case with the 960) but with the 970 I haven't seen anything yet . More info on the MarRumors forum by searching "Upgrading 2013/2014 Macbook Pro SSD to M.2 NVMe".
Personally I would like to test this model or another one (Toshiba XG5p but hard to find) soon. If ever I will post the result. Good luck to you
The proposed model is not compatible, it is the AURA PRO X range that should be taken.
Hi, I honestly don't think it will work. It seems to me, that you need the OWC hard drives (OWC SSD 960GB Aura 6G Kit (960GB) )
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use the OWC SSDs, but I'm not sure.
