I would like to buy this microphone and use it for podcasting. But I realise it's not that easy. I understand that I need a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen, and some kind of Cloud Filter and cables and something for phantom power? Here is my specific question: What exactly do I need for phantom power for 48V? What kind of cable would you recommend for best quality? Have I forgotten anything else to buy? From the mic into the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen goes an XLR cable and from the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen into the PC it goes via USB cable, correct? Sorry, somehow I don't have an overview of this topic :-(

You need a digital-to-analogue converter. This is, as you already mentioned, e.g. a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. If you only need one connection (one microphone), you can also use the cheaper Solo. This converter has an XLR input and also supports 48V phantom power at the touch of a button. The problem with the Shure SM7B is that the output power is very low, so it needs very strong amplification. That's what the Cloudlifter (or any other microphone preamp) would be for. Finally, don't forget the stand. For the cable, I recommend Contrik.
