I would like to buy the monitor - but just the thought that there are fans built in disturbs me a lot. Since I also want to use this monitor normally for Windows (not gaming) (image editing, MS Office, etc.) my question is for all PG35VQ owners...how audible are the fans when there is no sound and a quiet environment (my PC is not audible)? Small fans rotate quickly and usually make an unpleasant noise... Thank you!

In an absolutely quiet environment, you can hear the fan through a low hum. But this is nothing compared to other monitors with active ventilation. If you don't use the monitor for gaming, I would recommend another one, partly because of the high price. You write that you also want to use it for image editing. For this, I would recommend a monitor with an IPS panel, as these have a much better colour accuracy than a VA panel.

It's always your own perception. I have a WaKü PC that is very quiet and only notice the fan when I stand behind the monitor. Others would certainly complain about this
Very rarely in summer when I can hear the thing when it's really warm. But that's just it...it's always a matter of opinion.
As I have a neighbour who hears mosquitoes farting, I know how sensitive some people are to noise and would probably advise them not to use it in this case ;).
Even though it is an incredibly great monitor when adjusted correctly.
