Question about Hercules Inpulse 500

I would also like to record podcasts with the Hercules Inpulse 500. It has a micro-input and a controller, but apparently no on/off switch. But I probably don't necessarily need one. I just have to turn up MIC LEV sufficiently. Or can the mic interfere with the recording even if it is set to 0? Or are there mics with an on/off switch? Thx!

I use a mic with an on/off switch myself, I have the Inpulse mainly for streaming on Twitch.
When I communicate with viewers, I turn the mic on.
