Question about Sonos Roam

I was so excited and got SONOS Roam today (ordered two of them). When I went to integrate the new speakers into my existing 7-room system, I came up with. They are NOT compatible! The new Roam need an S2 App and I have some speakers in the house that still work perfectly which only run on the S1 App!? What's the point. The main argument for SONOS is ONE SYSTEM. So I could have just bought a normal Bluetooth speaker. Is there a workaround for this? I don't want to (have to) replace my existing set-up because of the new speakers? Thank you very much!

My Roam was delivered yesterday. My mistake, that I didn't pay attention to the description of the Roam at Sonos, that the little thing only works with S2! All speakers sold after May 2020 should need this (according to Sonos support). My Move (bought before) was the last one I could connect to my S1. The new Homecinema I bought last year (Arc, Sub, 2x One) I also had to install with the S2. Now I have installed the Roam with it but of course I can't use it in the S1 group. But Sonos is at least too good to hold that you can install and use S1 and S2 (and thus the old devices as long as they work - with me already over 10 years!) at the same time. In my case, radio/streaming/music with the S1 and home cinema with the S2. I got the Roam anyway for mobile use with BT and Handi (but it has to be integrated into a WLAN for installation first - just S2; information from Sonos support).

There was quite an outcry about this some time ago, as apparently too few new speakers were sold and the old 'S1' hardware supposedly could no longer cope with all the new functions - hence the split into the old S1 and the new S2 world, which, as far as I know, cannot be combined. After the outcry, SONOS made a limited time offer to buy new parts at a discount if you made the old ones 'unusable' - that was a real joy. The aim is exactly that you will replace your setup... I'm buying the Roam today, but I won't be able to connect it to my two older S1 Play:1s either... Sorry, I'm not much help, but I'm 100% solidarity.

It is actually quite clear that only S2 is possible. You can't complain about that afterwards.
