Question about Focusrite Scarlett Solo – 4th Generation

I want to run an XLR microphone and the DT 990 PRo through it and I'm not exactly well versed in this topic. Is this Scarlett Solo enough, or should I get the 2i2?

The Scarlett Solo is not well suited for a microphone. Its sound is always distorted. I don't know if it works better with the 2i2.
