I want to connect my Macbook Air (Retina, 13 inch, 2020, latest OS) to the display via the USB hub, but I can't get a picture or the display doesn't recognise the USB-C source. If I go via HDMI to USB-C it works, but I want to use the USB hub. I have now bought a Thunderbolt 4 cable and still no success. Does anyone know a trick? I have another appointment with Apple Support.
In the meantime, have you found a solution to connect the monitor to your Air only via USB-C (data + power) --> I'm thinking of buying the monitor, but would prefer this ;-) - Thanks! (I also have an Air) ...
In my opinion and experience (Mac Mini M2 2023) the USB hub does not work with Apple devices, only with PC (PC vs Mac - they are partly different systems). I was able to connect the Mac Mini to the monitor via USB C (not the hub input - the monitor has two USB C inputs/outputs) and have a 5 K picture. However, the hub function does not work. When I connect the Mac Mini there, I don't get a picture either.
