I still have a Nokia Asha 306 at home, now I would like to know if my SIM card is compatible with the new Nokia 8, since it already has some newer technology behind it?

No, the Ashe uses a mini-SIM - the Nokia 8 uses a micro-SIM, which is even smaller in form factor.
It is possible to cut the SIM card to size using an adapter, but I would advise you not to do so - SIM cards are also evolving and contain features that no longer apply to older generations and therefore cannot fulfil the full range of functions of a modern smartphone.
Therefore, my advice is to get a new SIM card with a new smartphone that also comes in the right format.
