I simply cannot set the resolution to 5120x1440. The maximum resolution that can be set is 3840x1080, totally spongy. The latest drivers for the screen and graphics card are installed, several restarts have not helped. Everything is fine with the graphics card (Sapphire Nitro R9 390 Tri-X OC 8GB), several 2560x1440 monitors work fine. This monitor fades in when I turn it on that it is not set to the optimal resolution (5120x1440). Can someone please give me a tip on this? I would really appreciate it and would hate to send it back.
The same problem with me. With NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, this should actually not be a problem. Drivers are up to date. After uninstalling the LG driver, I was able to set a custom resolution in the NVIDIA settings. So I could actually switch to 5120/1440. But the picture is still blurry, but smaller. So not a very good solution.
I had the same problem. Graphics card Radeon STRIX R9 FURY. 4k is no problem with it, but 5120x1440 exceeds the maximum resolution of the STRIX.
I searched what the Sapphire Nitro R9 390 Tri-X OC 8GB gives. Google says: Information on max. resolution: DVI: 2560 x 1600 / DisplayPort: 4096 x 2160 / HDMI: 4096 x 2160
So you won't get around a new graphics card if you want to enjoy the max resolution (which is a must in my opinion). I chose a ROG STRIX RTX2080 SUPER O8G. Works great :o)
Addition: I use the original cable supplied. The resolution can be achieved neither via HDMI nor via DP.
