I received the thing yesterday and can't get my uwqhd monitor to work properly with it. I have tried different hdmi cables, but either the picture is distorted, or it is at most 30hz with the biggest input lag I have ever seen. Is it the adapter or the cable?

I'm not an expert, but Digitec wanted my opinion, as I had also bought it. 
- Maybe it's because of the copatibility? (You have to look at the monitor to see what the conditions are-.
 
-or when connecting the computer, the manager must first recognise the device and you must click on something.

- or the device is defective (send it back and order a new one).
