I own a MacMini with Thunderbolt 3. Have an external case with Thunderbolt 2 cable connection! My question: Can I connect the Thunderbolt 2 cable (from iMac 2013) with this adapter?

Yes, this is a TB2 to TB3 adapter. It allows the old Thunderbolt to be used with the new connections.
