I often listen to podcasts with only one bud in my ear. Do these Buds 6 lite also switch on if you only put one of them in your ear and not both?

Yes, you can also use just one earbud to listen to podcasts. The Redmi Buds 6 Lite work in single mode if you only put one in your ear. This is not explicitly excluded in the official FAQs and product descriptions, and many modern wireless in-ear headphones support this function.
If you are unsure, you can simply try it out or check the Xiaomi Earbuds app to see if single mode settings are available there.
