I left the original plug with friends and am now using a different one. Now there is a display on the right-hand side of the device (next to the plug). This is not very nice at night when charging. Why is it flashing now? But it still seems to be charging. Does anyone have any ideas?

Presumably your replacement charger has less than 40W. I found the following on Reddit:

"I experimented and found that the device flashes when plugged into a power supply that delivers less than 40W, like the power supply that came with it. I have a 100W GaN III power supply and when I plug it into the 65W port, it doesn't blink. When I connect it to the 35 W port, it flashes. So check the Power Delivery (PD) specifications of your chargers.

It's still charging my phone and watch, but probably not delivering the full power it's rated for to the devices."
