Question about Sony WF-1000XM5

Hello mguyen, I have both models but I haven't had much experience with the XM5 yet. The tips supplied seem to be the same as on the XM4. Overall the XM5 is 25% smaller but the tips are identical and the attachment system is the same. I haven't tried it but I think the XM4 bits should fit the XM5 and vice versa. So it won't solve your problem of pain over time. Honestly, having tried both models, I don't think the XM5 is revolutionary compared to the XM4. They're just smaller and, for me, harder to handle with my big fingers.

the WF-1000XM5 are available in 4 sizes:
-Size SS: red
-size S: orange
-size M: green
-size L: light blue

These earbuds fit comfortably in your ears while keeping out ambient noise thanks to an improved gloss finish and a more luxurious feel. By reducing the size of the headphone housing and optimising the placement of components, the headphones are now around 25% smaller and 20% lighter than model WF-1000XM4.

If the size of the ear tips does not fit your ears, replace the ear tips. When replacing the earplug inserts, try different sizes of earplug inserts, starting with large sizes. The optimal size of the earplug inserts for the left and right ear may differ.

You can use the Sony | Headphones Connect app to determine which ear tips are best for you for optimal noise cancellation, sound quality, etc.
Make sure the headset fits in your ears as specified.
If you wear the headset for a long time, you may experience ear pain. Take regular breaks when using the headset.
