I have the Logitech Master MX3 mouse. Can I assume that I can also use the dongle for this keyboard, or does it need the one supplied here?

With the dongle supplied, you have plug'n'play. If you want to use another dongle, you have to connect it first. I have never done this before, so I have no experience.
