I have the HyperX Alloy Elite Rgb keyboard (DE, cable, Cherry MX Red). It has 2x USB cables plus a mouse. That's 3x USB cables. One is now too many. What can I do? Thanks for the help
As far as I know, this keyboard has a USB port for the mouse etc. That's why it has two USB ports for the keyboard. I would plug the mouse into the keyboard and test the keyboard on the switch, if possible.
Based purely on my experience, I would say that the keyboard has two USB ports for the sole reason that a single one would not supply enough power (lighting I assume). USB ports have power protection/limitation. If so, the keyboard should also work if one port is on the switch and one on the PC & mouse on the switch. Test with one USB on the PC and one on an external USB charger, for example (possibly swap if it doesn't work). Or test with only one and see what (doesn't) work. Additional info. You may not have all mouse/keyboard functions with the switch on the second PC (in my case a Cyborg R.A.T. 9)!
