I have read that the screws for mounting are not included. What would be the ideal size of screws for this lamp and are dowels necessary for a concrete ceiling? Thanks for your help!

Yes, dowels are definitely necessary for a concrete ceiling. A 6 mm dowel is sufficient. The screw size required is indicated on the dowel.
