Question about Samsung LS49A950UIPXEN

I have now specially taken the monitor with integrated speakers. my macbook pro is connected with HDMI. however, my laptop only recognises the internal speakers from itself. how can i activate the speakers in the monitor? i can set the volume on the monitor itself.
