I have just tested my card and am puzzled, can you help me? (Test with GPU-Z) 1. it doesn't say that my card is a fake. Phuuu ! Lucky but..... 2. even after several reloads and benchmarks, GPU-Z tells me that my "Aorus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" is a card with a "PCIe 2.0" interface and that it also runs on my board with 2.0. (My board is old, it really only has a 2.0 interface) I said: "That can't be! "I went directly to the manufacturer's page on "NVIDIA" and "AORUS" and saw that it had to be a "PCIe 3.0" card. 3. 3. i got the purchase receipt (Digitec, of my previous owner, as it is still under warranty until 12.2020, and there is the date of purchase on 28.12.17 hmmmmmm 4) With a little bit of research I have to say that such a card with "PCIe 2.0" may never have been available on the date of purchase, or am I mistaken? The connections according to the manufacturer match. Please help me ! It is clear that I should go to the shop. But can you possibly find any information that can confirm with certainty that exactly this card "only" existed with a "PCIe 2.0" connection?
Hello - The 1080Ti is a PCIe 3.0 card. But as far as I know, PCIe 3.0 is only possible if the board supports it. If there is only 2.0, nothing else will ever be displayed. PCIe is downward compatible... The card itself supports 3.0 of course - if it is available. I don't think this will change without a new board.
You have a mainboard that only supports PCIe 2.0 and wonder why your graphics card only runs with PCIe 2.0?
"That can't be! "You can't get 3.0 out of a 2.0 connection, the connection is technically not capable of it.
But you can attach a 3.0 card to a 2.0 port, but then it will only run/display with 2.0.
In my case, the card is definitely with 3.0.
