The best thing is to take a moment and compare the monitors on prad.de. They do really detailed tests.

The newer screen has about 25% more pixels, which means that your graphics card must also have about that much more power.

So it matters what kind of games you want to play. How important are high FPS numbers to you? What kind of graphics card do you have?
