I have bought a new MacBook Air and would like to connect it via USB-C to this monitor. Does this work? I have read various conflicting opinions on the net. Thank you very much for your advice.

I can't say anything about the Air specifically. I use a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018) with it and it works.
