Question about Sonos Playbase

I have an LG C9, Apple TV (brand new) and a Playbase that is optically connected to the TV. For the digital output, I have selected "loop through" on it as well as "Dolby Digital". Nevertheless, "Stereo PCM 2.0" appears as the audio input in the Sonos app. However, the target would be DD 5.1. What am I doing wrong? Thank you!

I have a fairly similar setup (LG E8) and it works for me without an extractor when the output on the LG is set to "HDMI ARC".

I don't think you can achieve 5.1 with the Playbase. You still need 2 Play1
