I have an Acer Predator G3 710 The following SSD hard disk is currently installed on the direct mainboard: KINGSTON RBU-SNS8152S3/128GG2. The system shows that the interface is SATA 3. Now I am confused because the SSD is installed directly on the mainboard. Can I replace it with such an SSD and gain speed or is the interface on my mainboard only SATA 3?
M.2 is a size specification. It simply says that the memory card will fit in the slot.
Your Kingston memory card still uses a SATA interface, everything is correct so far.
Look at the contacts on your memory card: it has two gaps, which means it uses SATA.
The Samsung 970 has only one gap: that is, it can use the faster NVME.
Your mobo can also use NVME, and all NVME slots are backwards compatible with SATA.
In short, there should be no problem
As I see it, you have an M.2 slot just below the PCI-E slot for the graphics card.
But I'm not sure if replacing the SSD will give you a significant performance boost.
