I have a Yamaha RX-V765 AV receiver to which I have connected a Teufel 5.1 system. If I play the music via the Spotify streaming service on my smartphone, is it only played in stereo via two speakers or are all the speakers in the 5.1 system controlled? I had just tried a cheap product from Logitech where the music was only played via two speakers. The quality was miserable.

Hi Marco, the quality is pretty good. For me, it's better than with Chromecast, radio or some CD. Whether you can play 5.1 or stereo, I can't say. Greetings, Jorge

Music is generally (actually always) produced in stereo. If you play an audio file via Spotify, this file consists of two audio tracks (L and R). As a rule, a surround system will only play this file/signal through two speakers. So don't be surprised. It has nothing to do with the product ;)
