Question about NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro
I have a question: I would like to use the Shield mainly for streaming from my NAS (Plex) to my 4k TV and now and then a few games (Steep) would also be great. Do I need the Pro version?
No. If you store everything on your NAS, you can use the normal version.
Plex runs directly on the SHIELD TV. SHIELD TV supports hardware-accelerated transcoding of the formats: H.264, H.265 and MPEG 2 if you want to stream to another device. The library can be mounted directly from the NAS (CIFS Share).
