I have a MacBook Pro 2017 and the USB-C cable that came with it does not work. I only get a picture when I connect the monitor with the HDMI cable and an adapter. But then I only have 30 Hz and not 60 Hz. Is there a compatible USB-C cable that I can use or do you know of any other way to connect the monitor so that I can enjoy the full performance? Thank you very much for your help and, if necessary, a product reference.

The supplied cable is only for charging or data transfer up to maximum USB2 speed, and no display information transfer, as it is not a Thunderbold 3 cable. To operate a display, a TB3 cable is required. This can be recognised by the lightning symbol on the connector.

In my experience, it is usually due to the poor quality cables. I can only speak from experience with the Z27. But I have more than 10 installations of it. Try using the original Apple USB-C Data (Thunderbolt 3) cable (not the charging cable). Apple Thunderbolt 3 (C - C, 0.80m, 3.1)

If that doesn't work either, the last tip is to use the USB-C -> DisplayPort adapter instead of HDMI, then you'll also get 60HZ.

Thank you for your feedback. I still have a Lenovo Think Vision monitor, where it works perfectly with USB-C to USB-C including charging. It doesn't work with the same cable on the HP Z38c. That's why I'm looking for solutions on how to get to 60 Hz.

Ciao
I had the same problem. New MacBook at home, new HP notebook at work - nevertheless something always doesn't work as it should on the USB-C. Quite annoying/disappointing, but since the display itself is really good, I kept it anyway.
My current workaround:
- Monitor runs via USB-C to Displayport adapter from the scope of delivery of the HP notebook.
- USB HUB runs via USB > USB-C adapter of the monitor
- Charging not at all or via HP standard connector

By the way, I can't charge my MacBook via USB-C either, what's your situation?

The only monitor that can currently do both is the 27" LG from the Apple range, I had tested the combination with the service notebook there...
