Question about Lenovo 40AC0135CH ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock
I have a Lenovo ideapad 330 and bought the Thunderbolt 3 Dock 135W. Unfortunately, neither the HDMI nor the VGA port works to connect two monitors, nor does my notebook charge via USB-C. I can't use it. I also get the message "Functionality is limited". There are no errors in the device manager, I have checked this and the original drivers (thinkpad_thunderbolt-3_dock_and_usb-c_dock_driver_v10015) Lenovo are installed.
If I see this correctly, your ideapad only has a USB-C port and no Thunderbold. USB-C has the same connector, but much less power than Thunderbold. You have bought the wrong dock, there are also docks for USB-C from Lenovo.
Incidentally, the Thunderbold dock is an ingenious part if you have a corresponding Thunderbold connection on your notebook. I use the dock with 2 UDH screens not only with a Lenovo Thinkpad, but also with an HP Elite and even with an Apple Macbook Pro (but the extended screen doesn't work there). You have to be a bit creative when switching it on, but otherwise it works great...
