I imagine that I would use the pre-programmed amount of water for 2 cups in the morning for the crème or lungo (with a coarser grind) and the pre-programmed amount of water for 1 cup during the day for the espressos (with a finer grind). This means that I would only have to manually change the grind and the filter insert between the two types of coffee (unless I was making a double espresso).
It is particularly important to me that the programmed
amount of water on button 1 remains stored even if the grind level for button 2 is changed and vice versa.

The two buttons (1 or 2 cups) for starting the brewing process can be programmed (duration of water flow). There are two inserts for the portafilter (also for 1 or 2 cups). When grinding, 1 or 2 cups can also be selected (amount of coffee). However, changing the portafilter inserts is a bit tedious, so I only do it when I have visitors. I usually drink cappuccino with double espresso, so this works for me. I only adjust the grind when I buy different coffee beans.
