I currently use 3 (different) 24" FHD monitors with Nvidia Surround. Since a single 1080 can hardly maintain 3x 2560x1440, I would probably often have to reduce to TFHD - Can anyone give his/her impression of how a standard FHD image looks on the monitor? In particular, I would be interested in the sharpness. I am aware that there are losses compared to the native resolution, but how does it perform against a native FHD monitor of the same size?
Up until now I've actually always been a strong advocate of native resolution, but with today's pixel densities it doesn't seem so bad anymore. I have a 24" FHD at work and the S2417DG 2560x1440 at home. When playing DOOM, I unintentionally did the test: the game was set to 1080 by itself and I had forgotten to switch it. I only noticed it after half an hour of playing, and only then in the menu. I have now tried it again in WIndows and find it really acceptable (viewing distance approx. 60cm). In general, I prefer to lower the graphics options a bit rather than lowering the resolution (out of tradition ;-), but 1080p looks really ok to me on the S2417DG.
