I can't find any information in the manual about the WLAN configuration or functionality. Can the Gopro 5 Session be integrated into an existing WLAN as a WLAN client via DHCP and with WPA2?

No, it's not possible either. The session itself generates a WiFi signal that you can connect to via your mobile phone. As far as I know, it is not possible to connect to home WiFi with it.
But it would be cool... live streaming ^^
