Question about Seagate Expansion Portable

I bought two of these hard drives. I can use one of them at 125 MB/s, the other only at just under 15 MB/s. Same software, same laptop, same USB slot, same drive letter... Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

It could be due to the formatting. It is best to check whether the disks are formatted in the same way. Fat32, ExFat, NTFS, all of these can have an influence. And always use the same benchmark tool for testing, I recommend Crystaldiskmark. It is also important to copy a larger amount of data than can be processed in the hard disk cache.
