I bought this hard drive and used it. Suddenly it wants a password. Why is that? I don't have a password. What can I do? Does anyone know? Thank you
Hi, I've been using this product for over 10 years and I've never had any problems. Either you use it as an external hard drive with your explorer, or as a backup with the TranscendElite programme. It's a simple programme that doesn't make incremental back-ups, but it's very reliable. It only works with original products.
The password required is the one used by the program's powerful encryption. If you make a backup you have a window at the bottom left "advanced" where you enter 2x your password if you activate encryption.
I don't use the cloud and its encryption function.
If you don't make it, destroy all the data and if necessary format the hard drive and delete your backup projects in the Elite program.
