Question about StarTech DisplayPort to HDMI - 4K

I bought the adapter to connect it to the DisplayPort input of my monitor (which doesn't work). Did I buy the wrong adapter or does my monitor (Samsung LU28D590DS/EN (28", 3840 x 2160 pixels)) not support the whole thing?

I could imagine that the signal direction of the adapter does not suit your needs. It is probably intended for DP > HDMI, but in your case the signal would arrive at the HDMI and the DP side would be the output.
