I am very interested in this screen. Especially because it is relatively small for 4K and has an integrated dock including charging function. Now I read here that exactly this dock does not always work well. I have a MacBook privately and an HP from the shop. And here there is very contradictory information, once the MacBook works, once it doesn't... - Does anyone have any experience, what is the reason? - If it doesn't work, is that a warranty case or can I send the product back? - Are there any alternatives to this screen?
We use the screen with a Macbook Air m1, a Macbook Pro Intel and an HP laptop. The docking (including charging) via USB-C works perfectly with all of them.
I don't know of a good alternative, or at the time of my purchase at the end of May, nothing else promising (https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter...) was available.
If it doesn't work, Digitec will take back quite a lot, but not necessarily at full price.
The resolution is perfect, because with 3840 x 2160 pixels, texts are displayed razor-sharp. You have to know that Windows 10 will operate the screen with a scaling of 150%, i.e. the texts and everything that is displayed would be like when a 27 inch screen is operated with 2560 x1440 pixels. With the difference that everything is displayed razor-sharp. Wow, the price is really great. I use a 3840 x 2160 pixel screen myself and at 299, that's really very cheap with the dock.
Of course, the screen can also be used with 100% scaling, if necessary, but then the fonts are of course rather small. But as an alternative, you can also set the scaling to 125%, which still gives you legible fonts and of course more content than with 2560 x 1440 pixels at 27 inches.
Another alternative would be the Dell U2722DE:
Dell UltraSharp U2722DE (27", 2560 x 1440 Pixels)
It's a bit more expensive, but it even has two USB-C ports, an auto KVM switch solution and a LAN port.
