Question about Profitec Per 300

I am very interested in the machine. However, I would be interested to know the distance between the drip tray and the portafilter. We have cups that are 10 cm high and we would like to be able to use them. Alternatively, I can also imagine a bottomless portafilter, but I don't want to buy the machine without any measurements. Can anyone help me in this regard?

As already described by other forum members, the distance from the grille to the lower end of the outlet is approx. 80mm (82mm for my 2). Removing the grille +30mm might work from time to time, if necessary place a cloth underneath, but would not be a satisfactory solution for frequent use. With a bottomless portafilter, the distance from the grid is 120mm.
My tall glasses are 94mm and even with a lungo (here espresso on hot water) I can still manage with all portafilters - you don't let it fill up to the brim and a slight tilt when removing it is enough.

I measure from the outlet nose of the portafilter to the drip grid 78mm. Distance of the grille (cup into the drip tray) = +30mm.
However, I would find it very inconvenient to remove the grille, because when the feed pipe is vented (this happens automatically in the centre at the rear edge of the grille into the drip tray after every coffee withdrawal), the A. tray serves as a drainage basin and therefore becomes damp (resulting in damp cup undersides).
If, like me, you also briefly rinse the strainer mounted on the machine after each coffee extraction stage (2s water flow), you will always have some coffee rinsing water in the tray.

Yes, you can also remove the drip tray (= tot. 160mm), but then you have the deaeration and possibly rinsing water on the table. To remedy this:
Place the vessel under the vent. You could actually use the drip tray to rinse the machine sieve, but to use your 10 cm cups you would have to remove the tray and place the vessel under the air vent.

I recommend visiting a coffee machine centre with a large selection of coffee machines (e.g. Espressoworld.ch in Murten) and taking a 10 cm cup with you - try it.

The distance between the filter holder and the drip tray is 79mm. If you remove the grille and place the cup directly in the drip tray, the distance is +30mm.
Sieve support to contact surface (you can remove the drip tray) 160 mm.

Basically an espresso machine - also for Doppio - 10cm might work depending on the width of the cup. But 7-8cm would definitely be better.
