i am very happy with the device. unfortunately it is a chinese model. with 7.1.1 everything was ok.since yesterday i have 8.0 on it.but i have to realize that many apps are written in chinese like calendar,phone and other apps that i can't uninstall. also the playstore is missing,which i had to install myself. i hope there is a solution. i don't know chinese.

Were you able to solve the problem? I got the message from the update today... But if everything is then in Chinese again, as it was on delivery, that's rather unpleasant.

Try to get to the language settings through the icons:
Cogwheel - > Settings 
Sound Mixer ( three horizontal sliders ) -> Language Settings , then first from the top 'Language and Input' or just click through all of them one by one :)

It doesn't show an update for me yet... was 8.0 installed manually?

Maybe a hard reset would help?
