I am looking for a system with which I can efficiently wipe hard disks. The aim is to be able to use and wipe several hard disks at the same time. That should be possible with this, right? Or does anyone know of a better option?
I don't know what you want to do with the unit. But it is not suitable for permanently changing disks. I use the ICY BOX IB-121CL-U3 for that. They are available for 2 or 4 slots. However, the IB-3640SU3 can be configured for Raid - Raid5.
This item is not practical when it comes to constantly changing disks. You are probably better off with a removable frame, for example a Sharkoon QuickPort (Art. No. 246268). If necessary, you can install several of them in one PC.
If you want a professional solution, something like this might come into question:

At just under $2,000, however, it is not exactly cheap, but it does offer the possibility of creating deletion certificates and labels, among other things.
This might also be an option:

However, only for one hard disk at a time, but it has the advantage of not requiring a computer for the wipe process.
(However, I don't know if the part is any good).
We used an old pizza tray for such actions (any older HP server with as many disk slots as possible) and then booted Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN) via Live CD on it.
It worked, but some of the discs did not survive the wipe process or gave up the ghost in the middle.
These were then physically destroyed (several holes were drilled in them with a table drill).
