Question about Lenovo ThinkPad Ultra
I am looking for a docking station similar to this one but for my Lenovo E580. However, I would like to dock the notebook closed and then continue working on the external monitor. However, with the docking boxes I see from Lenovo, the notebook is always open when docking and that bothers me.
As far as I can see, the Lenovo Thinkpad E580 has no connections for a docking station at the bottom. However, there is an external one that can be connected via USB C, in which case all the connections are on the outside. Have a look at the Lenovo website: https://www.lenovo.com/ch...
Should not be a problem as long as the power settings are configured accordingly so that the laptop does not go into standby mode as soon as it is closed.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a docking station for your notebook.
However, I would like to give you a hint about the docking station. You can also close the notebook and simply place it in the docking station and connect it. It simply depends on the settings of the notebook whether it switches off as soon as you close it or whether it continues to run.
I think the open notebook with the docking station is often seen in advertising photos. Of course it looks better when the notebook is open.
