I am a complete layman. My aim is to be able to monitor several of our buildings and outbuildings (run via the same meter, all separately fused at the switchboard) separately to see when and how much is consumed in the building. Is this the right product for me? I know that Shelly offers an enormous number of options for programming etc. But I just want to be able to install it (or have it installed), start the app or webgui and analyse it. Is it as simple as I imagine? Thank you

Hello, the Shelly 3EM offers the measurement of exactly 3 phases (i.e. 3 individual 230V lines in reference to a neutral line).
If the individual buildings are only connected to a single phase (which I doubt), it would be possible to monitor three buildings. Otherwise you would need several Shellys - one for each building and enough space in the fuse box.
The best thing I would do here would be to have an electrician take a look in the switch cabinet.

Yes, it's simple. And personally, I pump the status via the API every minute with a PHP script stored directly in PHP... The connection is via WiFi or RJ45.

Consumption with an accuracy of +-1% is saved per hour and then only stored in the cloud for a certain time, but can be easily downloaded.
With this restriction: Yes, it's that simple. I use it like this.

it's certainly good for recording if the data is then queried and analysed externally.
however, if you want to do your billing properly, there are probably better (but of course also more expensive) solutions. back when i looked at the gui, the evaluation options weren't really all that great.
